NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE
Fishing has slowed in the Boulder Basin in recent days as anglers have had some difficulty catching fish. One shore fisherman reported to the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) that he only caught one striped bass after casting a yellow Bomber Long-A lure for several hours last Saturday night at Pumphouse Cove.
Anglers who have been fishing from shore this week at Hemenway Harbor have also had trouble enticing the stripers to bite. Boaters have been having some luck for stripers in Las Vegas Bay, but the fishing has slowed in that area as well.
Shore anglers fishing in the Las Vegas Wash area reported good success for striped bass. The fish are being taken with threadfin shad and anchovies.
NDOW is scheduled to stock Hemenway, Horsepower, Pumphouse and North Saddle coves today with rainbow trout.
Willow Beach anglers reported good success for striped bass and stocked rainbow trout following the NDOW trout plant.
One boater landed a striped bass that weighed in at 43 pounds. Shore anglers reported good success for rainbow trout that averaged 12 inches.
NDOW is scheduled to stock Willow Beach today with rainbow trout.
The daytime temperatures were in the mid-40s and the lows were in the mid teens.
