Betty Jane Barnhurst

Betty Jane Barnhurst, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 24, 1925, in Utah. A resident for 51 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Willard Dean; two sons, Mike Barnhurst of Henderson and Randy Barnhurst of Las Vegas; one daughter, Trudy Blood of Las Vegas; one sister, Lucile White of American Fork, Utah; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the LDS Heritage Park Ward. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Margaret Frances Binkowski

Margaret Frances Binkowski, 90, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 25, 1913, in New York City. A resident for 29 years, she was a retired executive secretary for a paper mill and active in the Boulder City Community Club and St. Andrew's Parish Altar Society.

She is survived by three daughters, Roberta McConomy of Pittsburgh, Marlys Grasmick of Las Vegas and Dolores Kennard of Heath, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 3391 N. Buffalo Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89129.

Sari Brookes

Sari Brookes, 82, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. A resident for eight years, she was a retired aerospace engineer.

She is survived by one daughter, Wendy O'Sullivan of Boulder City; one brother, Richard S. Terry of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and one grandchild.

Jose R. Chavez

Jose R. Chavez, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 23, 1923, in Bayamo, Cuba. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired Dunes hotel cook and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha; two daughters, Maria Elena Chavez of Las Vegas and Maria De Los Angeles Chavez of Cuba; two sons, Rafael Chavez and Jose Antonio Chavez, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Olga Chavez and Gloria Chavez, both of Cuba; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 315 S. Casino Center Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Jennie L. DeFalco

Jennie L. DeFalco, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 14, 1942, in Rankin, Pa. A resident for 20 years, she was a retail sales supervisor.

She is survived by her husband, Vincent; one daughter, Dina DeFalco of North Las Vegas; two sons, Edward DeFalco of Salt Lake City and Vincent DeFalco Jr. of Agoura, Calif.; one sister, Leonore Saienni of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Pat Artascos of Palm Beach, Fla., and Leonard Artascos of Florida; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Stanley Lewis Levine

Stanley Lewis Levine, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 17, 1940, in New York. A resident for 26 years, he was a bus driver.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; three sons, Kenneth Levine, Robert Levine and Jerry Levine; one brother, Gary Levine; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Wanda Low

Wanda Low, 80, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Ellis, Kan. A resident for 50 years, she was a retired supervisor, voted 1977 Woman of the Year for the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, a charter member of Federally Employed Women and a member of Royal Neighbors of America.

She is survived by one son, Russell Parissenti of Boulder City; two granddaughters, Cheryl Metzger of Las Vegas and Brandy Parissenti of Boulder City; and one great-grandson.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

LeRoy Lutrey

LeRoy Lutrey, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 25, 1917, in Gillette, Wyo. A resident for five years, he was a retired miner and a member of the Moose.

He is survived by two sons, Bill Lutrey and Marvin Lutrey, and one daughter, Mary Alice Floyd, all of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Sunrise Baptist Church, 1780 Betty Lane. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Tinalee Pelealoha Manildi

Tinalee Pelealoha Manildi, 36, of Las Vegas died Wednesday. She was born Jan. 21, 1967, in San Jose, Calif. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Haley P. Manildi of Evansville, Ind., and Hannah E. Esson and Sierrah E. Esson, both of Las Vegas; one son, William P. Richardson of Evansville; one brother, Ian Villeza of Mililani, Hawaii; her grandmother, Margaret Lucas of Evansville; and her companion, Peter D. Esson of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Leah R. Mann

Leah R. Mann, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. She was born Feb. 23, 1914, in Reedley, Calif. A resident for eight years, she was a retired florist.

She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Scalia of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Donald Lee McCloskey Sr.

Donald Lee McCloskey Sr., 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 7, 1942, in Pennsylvania. A resident for three months, he was an electrical worker, a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Masons.

He is survived by two sons, Gary McCloskey Sr. and Donald McCloskey Jr.; one daughter, Victoria Ward; and eight grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.

Lilly Miller

Lilly Miller, 81, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Tuesday in a Fort Wayne, care center. She was born Aug. 8, 1922 in Kermit, Texas. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. Fitch of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, is handling arrangements.

Brian Michael Milovich

Brian Michael Milovich, 38, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 11, 1965, in Nevada. A resident for 15 years, he was an audio technician.

He is survived by his mother, Alice S. Milovich; one brother, Steven D. Milovich, and three sisters, Mary L. Quiggle, Jane H. Helsem and Ann S. Peetz, all of Reno.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Walter Morris

Walter Morris, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 11, 1916, in Racine, Wis. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired wire rope factory worker, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by one brother, Victor Morris of Racine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10:30 a.m. service Thursday in Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave. Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Jim 'J.R.' Robinson

Jim "J.R." Robinson, 61, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1942, in Columbus, Ind. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired title officer in the insurance industry.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda; two sons, Shane Robinson of Las Vegas and David Robinson of California; and one stepson, Mitchell Lewis of Jackson, Wyo.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 7811 Vegas Drive. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Ruth Murray Smith

Ruth Murray Smith, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born April 23, 1922, in Rockvale, Colo. A resident for 42 years, she was a retired hotel hostess and a member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by one son, Dee Smith, and one daughter, Ruth Edwards, both of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

George Watson

George Watson, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 1, 1936, in San Antonio. A resident for seven years, he was a retired waste management inspector and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Michael Watson of Northridge, Calif.; his mother, Beatrice Watson, and one sister, Lillian Black, both of Pasadena, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Avenelle M. Weber

Avenelle M. Weber, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Denver. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Dustin-Rogers of Las Vegas; one son, Donald Horst of Yankee Hill, Calif.; two brothers, James Shelley of Las Vegas and Donald Shelley of Glendale, Ariz.; her companion, Edward Demers of Caldwell, Idaho; and one grandchild.
