Letter: Spread happiness during holidays
Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003 | 9:02 a.m.
The holiday season is upon us. Especially at this time of year, and especially considering the chaotic condition of the world, all mankind should be observant of the feelings and beliefs of others. We should all strive to wish everyone of all faiths a "happy holiday season" -- a truly nonsectarian greeting. If each of us goes an extra step to bring a little happiness into the lives of others around us, what a wonderful holiday season it will be. If we resolve to spread cheer, it will come back to us a thousandfold.
Regardless of the holiday that one celebrates -- be it Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or Christmas, or even some other holiday -- let's resolve to make it a joyful one for each other. The world can use a lot of that spirit at this time.
For those of us of the Christian faith, let's resolve to keep Christ in Christmas -- after all, that's who it is all about. It has always rankled my dander when Xmas is substituted for Christmas.
Happy Holidays to each and everyone who reads this. Then please spread the message to each and everyone you meet.
