Red Rock to host basket weaving
Artist and accomplished basket weaver Mark Vranesh will present rock art image demonstrations and how he incorporates them into watercolors, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Red Rock Canyon Visitors Center.
Using traditional methods and materials native to Southern Nevada -- such as palm fibers -- Mark will weave his magic in an effort to inspire people to learn today what is known about the skills of the artisans of yesterday. Call 515-5350.
Palm Mortuary will hold its sixth annual
Tree of Memory program and services to honor deceased loves at 7 p.m. today at 800 S. Boulder Highway and 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
