Actor’s wife won’t face charges

Prosecutors will not file battery charges against the wife of Christian Slater, who hit the actor over the head with a glass during a tussle in a Las Vegas hotel room.
Clark County District Attorney David Roger said this morning that television producer Ryan Haddon would not be prosecuted for her role in the Nov. 10 incident at the Hard Rock.
According to police reports, Slater received stitches at a local hospital after Haddon hurled a drinking glass at him, hitting him in the head.
Haddon told police that she accidentally struck Slater with the glass and did not intend to hurt him. Slater did not contest his wife's statement to police.
Roger said those facts played a major role in his office's decision not to file charges.
Haddon would have faced up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine, Roger said.
According to the arrest report, when police asked Haddon what happened, "Christian Slater approached us and told (his wife) to say this was an accident."
The officer told Slater to "step away," and when the officer asked her again to describe what happened, "she declined to comment," the report says.
Slater told police he did not want to press charges.
Later, in the couples' room at the Hard Rock, Haddon said her husband had been drinking that morning and they had been arguing.
During the fight, Haddon said she tried to throw water onto Slater, but the glass slipped from her hand and hit him behind the left ear, leaving a 1-inch cut, the report says.
