Metro Police expect to file charges against the father of a 3 1/2-year-old boy thrown from a vehicle in a crash Tuesday.
Detective Dennis Magill said Andrew Olsen, 29, of Las Vegas will be cited for not having his son in a car seat when his sport utility vehicle collided with a pickup truck at Nellis Boulevard and Gowan Road.
The driver of the pickup, Robin Chao, 27, of Las Vegas will be cited today with a right-of-way violation, Magill said.
The boy had been wearing a seat belt but had unbuckled it just before the crash. He was not in a car seat, Magill said. He suffered a concussion after being thrown from the vehicle and is recovering.
Children under 5 years old or under 40 pounds are required to be in car seats.
