A 56-year-old North Las Vegas woman was killed Tuesday when a tractor-trailer hit her in a parking lot of Bell's Market at 720 W. Owens Ave., Metro Police said.
The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was walking through the parking lot as truck driver Nathan Martin, 28, was making a U-turn. Martin did not see the woman and struck her, police said. She died at the scene.
Martin didn't realize he had hit the woman and continued west on Owens, police said. He returned to the parking lot after an employee of the market told him what had happened.
Police did not cite him because the fatality was an accident, police said.
This was the 114th traffic fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
