Students sell tiles for Child Haven
Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 | 8:41 a.m.
Art students at Becker Middle School are selling ceramic tiles they have glazed and fired to raise money for Child Haven to purchase clothing for the abused and neglected children kept at the county temporary shelter.
The tiles can be purchased at $15 apiece between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the school, 9151 Pinewood Hills Drive, off Hillpointe between Rampart Boulevard and Hills Center Drive.
About 250 tiles are available. Students also are collecting unwrapped gifts for at-risk students at Sunrise Acres Elementary School. People who bring an unwrapped gift Thursday will receive a free ice cream sundae. Toys may also be dropped off at the school before the event.
To make a donation to Child Have, call Lou Palma at 455-5390. For more information about the Becker event, call the school at 799-4460.
