Second man arrested for stadium shooting
A second man was arrested in the shooting of a San Francisco Giants fan at Dodger Stadium.
Pete Marron, 19, a fugitive since he was charged with murder in September, was arrested during a traffic stop Tuesday in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., after officers saw him leave a home they had staked out on a tip, said Officer Jason Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said the Sept. 13 shooting at the stadium appeared to involve fan rivalry.
Mark Allen Antenorcruz, 25, described by family members as a Giants fan, argued with the suspects before one of the men went to his car, pulled a gun and fired, authorities said.
The other man believed involved, Manuel Hernandez, 33, pleaded innocent to a murder charge in October. He was jailed on $1 million bail.
Elliott will go limited
Former NASCAR champion Bill Elliott will race a part-time schedule in 2004, the Associated Press reported today. An announcement is due Thursday. Rookie Kasey Kahne will move up from the Busch Series to race full time in the No. 9 Dodge that Elliott has driven the past three years.
Trail Blazer arrested
Portland Trail Blazers forward Zach Randolph was charged with driving under the influence after an officer said he smelled marijuana in the player's car.
Daze out 10 weeks
Chicago Blackhawks forward Eric Daze will undergo back surgery to repair a herniated disc and will be sidelined about 10 weeks.
