Runners ready with bells on
The Junior League of Las Vegas will hold its seventh annual Jingle Bell Jog 5K race and 1-mile fun walk beginning with registration at 6 a.m. Saturday at Howard Hughes Trail Park in Summerlin.
The holiday-themed race and fun walk, in which all participants wear bells on their shoes, will feature Summerlin Sam, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Pep Band, the Centennial High School Choir and raffle prizes including round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines.
Tickets for the race are $20; $15 for the 1-mile fun walk.

St. Nicholas Festival planned at church
Our Lady of Wisdom Byzantine Catholic Church, 2120 Lindell Road, will start its St. Nicholas Festival at 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
The program will feature a pageant, games, entertainment, food and baked goods for sale and a Hawaiian Christmas show.
Children who bring an empty shoe will have it filled with candy by St. Nicholas.

Jewelry show set for Cashman Center
The International Gem and Jewelry Show will return to Cashman Center from noon to 7 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The event offers a selection of unique and fine jewelry, precious and semi-precious gemstones, fresh-water and cultured pearls, antique and estate jewelry, watches, beads, sterling silver, crystal, and jewelry supplies direct from designers and manufacturers direct to consumers. Free jewelry cleaning will also be available.
Admission is $6; children 16 and under may attend free with an adult.

100 Black Men's annual gala planned
The 100 Black Men of America's annual black tie Holiday Gala will begin with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the MGM Grand's Conference Center, 4701 Koval Lane.
The program is designed to improve the quality of life for blacks and other minorities, and empower the young people through mentoring, education, health and wellness, and economic development programs.
There will be live entertainment featuring Ghalib Ghalab with special guest Earl Turner. Call 313-5255.
The North Las Vegas
holiday tree-lighting ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall. Musical performances by the Cram Middle School Choir and fifth graders from Richard Priest Elementary School will begin at 4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Lilly of the Valley Ministries
will hold its Healing and Deliverance Tent Crusade at noon and 6 p.m. Sunday through Dec. 12 at 100 Maryland Parkway. The theme of this year's crusade, "Setting the Captives Free," will consist of preaching, counseling and food. Call 369-1243.
