Career: Restaurateur since 1968. Partnered with Isodoro "Ted" Matranga in an original restaurant at Viejas casino near Alpine, Calif. Also owned or cooked at restaurants including Village Town House in El Cajon, Las Mesa and Ocean Beach, Sgt. Pepperoni's in Sloana Beach, Greens Cafe and DZ Akin's in San Diego. Began at Cheetahs as a bartender seven years ago.
Issues: Friends describe him as loyal to friends
Charges: Extortion, racketeering, conspiracy to obtain machine guns, silencers and pistols.

Michael Galardi
Age: 41
Job: President Cheetahs, owner strip clubs in Las Vegas and San Diego
Family: Separated, two children
Career: Son of longtime nightclub owner Jack Galardi, he went into the family business.
Issues: Tried to get local government to redraw city-county maps last fall in order to put Jaguars, another of his properties, in the unincorporated area of the county. This would have allowed the club to avoid the county's more strict lap dancing rules.
Charges: Wire fraud, extortion, racketeering

Career: Metro Police officer before being elected to Clark County Commission. After losing his commission seat in 2000, became lobbyist for strip club owner Michael Galardi.
Issues: Helped create laws that increased the distance between adult businesses from 500 to 1,000 feet. Also voted for neighborhood casino in Spring Valley after saying he would vote against it.
