Camp would create good memories
Friday, Aug. 29, 2003 | 4:31 a.m.
WEEKEND EDITION: August 30, 2003
A foster mother writes that since she took in her foster daughter, she has been trying to create new memories to replace bad ones from her past.
The girl, she writes, "has been in foster care most of her life. Due to this, she has missed out in participating in many social activities.
"Going to camp would be a great learning experience."
Not only that, the mother writes, camp "would make memories that she wouldn't forget."
The Sun Summer Camp Fund provides scholarships for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend camp. The Las Vegas Sun covers all administrative costs, so every donated dollar goes directly to camp tuition.
By joining contributors to the Las Vegas Sun Camp Fund you can make a difference in a child's life.
