Water restrictions
Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003 | 11:04 a.m.
The following restrictions are in place for the city of Las Vegas and unincorporated parts of Clark County, according to the Southern Nevada Water Authority:
The budgeted amount for golf courses is 6 1/2 feet of water per acre of irrigated turf. The fines can equal up to eight times the maximum rate for water.
Boulder City balked at two of the watering restrictions. The city on the shores of Lake Mead did not prohibit commercial misting systems and has slated the golf course restrictions for review and possible later action.
North Las Vegas has yet to vote on the new water restrictions. Henderson approved the new restrictions with the exception of the golf course water budgets July 15. The Henderson City Council is scheduled to consider the golf course provisions Tuesday.
