Democrats must move past 2000

Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003 | 8:57 a.m.

LaVergne V. Uzarski's Aug. 17 letter complaining about President Bush's election is typical of the Democrats' style on virtually every issue. Two years after the election, these grumps still cannot accept the fact that their man lost. Rather than having a rationale and logical debates, they flare with emotional nonsense. They ignore the fact that an independent statewide recount in Florida, after the historic Supreme Court decision, showed George Bush still winning the election.

Maybe if only Broward and Seward counties were recounted (as Democrats wanted), Al Gore might have won. But he didn't. This constant complaining by liberals is what my father called "sour grapes."

If the Supreme Court ruling was such a distortion of its constitutional role, why aren't these leftists up in arms over the Nevada Supreme Court's recent travesty. I guess that principle only matters when it's in one's favor.
