As a new resident who moved here from Chicago, I am amazed at how politicians think nothing of changing "master planned" communities to the detriment of homeowners. In Chicago politicians would not dream of upsetting the homeowners by building developments that the homeowners did not want. The reason is because homeowners vote, and they remember slights at the next election.
To the suffering homeowners of Southern Nevada, I advise you to start a list of all politicians who are voting to change your master planned communities to the detriment of your property values and quality of life. Remember to vote against them, and rally against them, in the next election. Your votes matter.
Homeowners want the master plan to remain in place. That's why we spend the money to purchase our homes in these communities in the first place.
