Five hospitals sold

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Tenet said today that gross proceeds from the transactions will likely total $550 million.
The hospitals, which have a total of 1,061 licensed beds, are: Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River, Fla.; Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, Tenn.; University Medical Center in Lebanon, Tenn.; Three Rivers Healthcare in Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Mo.
Tenet plans to sell seven more hospitals, including Lake Mead Hospital in North Las Vegas, and plans to close two more hospitals.
