Show tunes/operettas
Suzanne Farace, Lee Hughes, Erica Banks and Gary Oakes sing the great hits of Broadway and operettas at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Admission is $10. 658-6741.
Michelle Shocked
Singer Michele Shocked will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Clark County Government Center Ampitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Children 12 and under get in free. 455-8200.
Folk band
The city of Henderson Parks and Recreation hosts a performance by the Ecuadorian folk band Andes Manta at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Pkwy. Tickets are $2 for lawn seating, $3 for section C, $5 for section B, $7 for section A and $10 for section O. 565-7726.
Showcase 2003
Performers from various shows on the Strip will come together in "Showcase 2003" to benefit Lutheran Social Services of Nevada at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nicholas Horn Theater on the Community College of Southern Nevada Cheyenne campus. Tickets are a $20 donation. 639-1730, ext. 22.
Jazz
Local jazz guitarist/vocalist Calvin Brooks will perform from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Thursday at Starbucks, 651 N. Rainbow Road. The performances are free. 340-9391 or 499-4110.
Concert series
Central Christian Church offers a free weekly series entitled, "Hot Summer Nights," at 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday throughout the summer at 1001 New Beginnings Drive. 735-4004.
Christian rock
Ascension, a contemporary Christian rock band, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Pkwy. The performances are free. 454-8484.
Amateur night
The Beach is now hosting a "Local Band Night" at 9 p.m. every Thursday at 365 Convention Center Drive. The event is free for both participating bands and patrons. 731-1925.

Dance program
Las Vegas dance groups Mexico Vivo, Ballet Folklorico Tepuchcalli and Mexico Lindo will kick off the grand opening of the seventh annual Folkloric International season with a dance program at 6 p.m. today at Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. The program is free. 455-7340.
