Charles Francis Augustine

Charles Francis Augustine, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 8, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa. A resident for 16 years, he was an airline pilot and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; two daughters, Andrea Walsh of Los Angeles and Dallas Augustine of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, Gregory Augustine of Thousand Oaks, Calif. and Laurence Augustine of St. Augustine, Fla.; and three sisters, Marilyn Williamson of Sterling, Va., Laura Brookman of Napa Calif., and JoAnn Augustine of Mill Valley, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in St. Viator Catholic Church, followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

Scott Bradley Barnett

Scott Bradley Barnett, 47, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born July 22, 1956, in California. He was a field supervisor for a construction company.

He is survived by his parents, Fred and Delores Barnett of Henderson.

Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road handled private arrangements.

Dorothy Lou Binning

Dorothy Lou Binning, 61, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 10, 1942, in Minnesota. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Larry. E.; five daughters, Doreen, Tonia, Lori, Kathy and Tina; three sons, Larry Jr., Travis and Brad; one sister, Audrey Rolleston of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North is handling private arrangements.

Dorothy Butler

Dorothy Butler, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Aug. 12, 1915, in Utah.

She is survived by one daughter, Diane Hardy of Las Vegas.

Burial was scheduled in Salt Lake City. Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, handled arrangements.

Laurel Mary Dahl

Laurel Mary Dahl, 38, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born Nov. 11, 1964, in South Dakota. She was a casino shift manager.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Allen; two sons, Aaron Dahl of Henderson and Justin Dahl of Las Vegas; her mother, Sally Underberg, and two sisters, Shirley Kohlmeyer and Theresa Underberg, all of South Dakota.

Services were scheduled at noon today at Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road.

Gailan Isom

Gailan Isom, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born June 8, 1932, in Hurricane, Utah. A longtime resident, he was a retired masonry truck driver and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Monte; two sons, Bruce Isom of Las Vegas and Dwayne Isom of Washington, Utah; three stepdaughters, Lorrie Kini and Kalani Kini, both of Las Vegas, and Debra Kini of Hawaii; one stepson, William Kini of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.. Burial will be at 8 a.m. Monday at Palm Valley View Cemetery.

George R. Kaufmann

George R. Kaufmann, 69, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 27, 1933, in New York. A resident for 25 years, he was a Korean War Army veteran, a retired Nassau County, N.Y., police detective and a former Valley Stream, N.Y., volunteer firefighter.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; one son, Robert Kaufmann of Avon, Colo.; his mother, Frieda Kaufmann, and one brother, Robert F. Kaufmann, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday followed by a vigil at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Roslyn Martin

Roslyn Martin, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born June 19, 1920, in New York City. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired bookkeeper of 35 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Bobi Valli of Las Vegas; one sister, Frances Ainsworth of Los Angeles; and three grandsons.

Graveside services were scheduled Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

Shelby Myers

Shelby Myers, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 2, 1935, in Hollywood, Calif. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired accountant.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Wilson and Lyssa Zwart, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Edward Forlani of Las Vegas and John Myers of San Diego; one brother, William Hunsinger of Seattle; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial at Palm Valley View Cemetery.

The family suggests donations to the Las Vegas Humane Society, 2250 E. Tropicana Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Anne M. Norris

Anne M. Norris, 66, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 23, 1937, in Ithaca, N.Y. A resident for 36 years, she was a retired telephone company supervisor and an Air Force veteran.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; four daughters, Denise Katz, Colleen Norris and Terri Marceau, all of Las Vegas, and Traci Sherburne of California; two sons, Carleton Norris and Jeffrey Norris, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Pat Froud of Las Vegas; one brother, John F. Loughnan of New York; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Aug. 29 at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will be private.

Robert Calvin Pope

Robert Calvin Pope, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 15, 1940, in Aniston, Ala. A lifelong resident he was a homemaker and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda; one daughter, Christie Rose Pope, and one son, Daniel Gavin Pope, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, William Albert Pope, James Pope and Frank Pope; and one sister, Mary Davis.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday followed by services at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Casual aloha attire is requested by family.

John Sopczak

John Sopczak, 66, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born April 7, 1937, in Hackensack, N.J. A resident for eight years, he was a retired Marine Corps gunnery sergeant and a Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; two daughters, Sharon Cooper of Houston and Julianne Sopczak of San Jose, Calif.; one son, Peter John Sopczak of Fort Bragg, N.C.; and one granddaughter.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Melvin E. TeGantvoort

Melvin E. TeGantvoort, 90, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 1, 1913, in South Dakota. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired cook.

He is survived by two sons, Roger and Jeffrey; three daughters, June Wagner, Jennifer Lewis and Kim Butcher; four brothers, Phillip, Victor, Herbert and Orvis; two sisters, Rose Greenfield and Glenna Ferrante; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Lavaughn C. Yetter

Lavaughn C. Yetter, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born June 3, 1932, in Indianapolis. A resident for three years, she was a retired civilian financial clerk for the Army, program director of the Christian Women's Association, Las Cruces, N.M. Chapter, charter member and secretary of Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society, Saugus, Calif., and secretary of Canyon Country Initiative Committee.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Rhoades of Indianapolis and Eric Yetter of Costa Mesa, Calif.; five daughters, Lynette Yetter of Los Angeles, Patricia Cataldi of Las Vegas, Mary Taylor of Sacramento, Debbie Church of Urbandale, Iowa, and Christine Lytle of Kileen, Texas; one brother, Carl Carson Jr., and one sister, Evelyn Siler, both of Carthage, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
