Letter: Brooks’ death a seatbelt reminder
Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003 | 8:44 a.m.
Although an older person, I don't fret over my demise. I just don't want it to be caused by something trivial or preventable. So it was shocking to hear of Olympic and professional hockey coach Herb Brooks being ejected from his car in a rollover accident because he wasn't wearing his seatbelt.
The grief this caused his family, friends, and many fans is incalculable. While death is inevitable, it should not be a result of mistakes or carelessness.
