The board of the Regional Transportation Commission approved an annual update for two-, four- and 21-year road and transit plans that call for a total of more than $8 billion in local, state, federal and private funding.
The RTC board approved the plans without discussion Thursday.
The plans call for expanded transit programs, integrating the bus system with the monorail system now under construction and other mass-transit proposals, including a light-rail system.
The 21-year Regional Transportation Plan and four-year Transportation Improvement Plan are necessary for the region to win federal funding.
