Letter: Water not Vegas’ main attraction
Friday, Aug. 15, 2003 | 8:55 a.m.
In the Aug. 3 "Where I Stand" column, you gave half a page to Patricia Mulroy's self promotion. Mulroy, the general manager of the Southern Nevada Water Authority, acts like there wasn't a Las Vegas Strip before Bellagio turned on its fountains. People come to Las Vegas for the gambling and the shows, not the dancing waters. She should pick up a copy of the phone book and contact the 96 golf courses about saving water. Oh yes, even recycled water evaporates in the heat and must be replaced.
I fail to understand why the citizenry move to the desert and then try to make it the Midwest.
