Services scheduled Saturday for Broadbent

Services for longtime public servant Robert N. "Bob" Broadbent will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Cholla Street LDS Chapel in Henderson followed by a graveside service at noon at the Boulder City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the LDS Chapel at 303 Cholla Street in Henderson.
Broadbent, who died Saturday at 77, served as Boulder City's first mayor and served on the Clark County Commission from 1968 to 1980. He was the Interior Department's assistant secretary for water and science under President Ronald Reagan.
Broadbent was also Clark County director of aviation from 1987 to 1997 and oversaw McCarran International Airport's greatest period of growth.
Most recently, Broadbent had been a driving force behind the Las Vegas Monorail project, which is slated to open next year.
