Three people died in three separate rollover accidents during the weekend, including a California man killed in a wreck on Interstate-80 in Reno that sent four people to the hospital.
Jeffrey Reno, 30, was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene on the interstate between McCarran Boulevard and Keystone Avenue, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
Two other people were not wearing seat belts and also were ejected. The other two were wearing seat belts. All were taken to Washoe Medical Center for treatment.
Sunday morning's accident blocked westbound lanes and created a lengthy traffic jam for motorists headed to California.
On Saturday, a 26-year-old Reno man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover on Interstate-80 near Fernley.
The patrol said Christopher Cones was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected in the accident about 30 miles east of Reno.
A South Lake Tahoe, Calif., man was killed Sunday in a rollover on Nevada 375 in a rural area between Railroad Valley and Rachel.
The patrol said Ronald Rasmussen, 47, was northbound on the highway shortly when his pickup ran off the road and overturned several times.
Investigators said Rasmussen was wearing a seat belt but died as a result of the severity of the crash.
