George Basick Jr.

George Basick Jr., 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Draper, Wis. A resident for 17 years, he was an engineer for the power company and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Mary Trepanier of Pahrump; two sisters, Mary Ann Wehrly of Las Vegas and Anne Drurly of Illinois; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Burial will follow at 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Diahanna Bills

Diahanna Bills, 26, of Las Vegas died July 9 in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 13, 1976, in California. A resident for one year, she was a certified medical assistant.

She is survived by one son, Jermaine Jones, and one daughter, Kaylin Jones, both of Lafayette, La.; her mother, Patricia Puckett, and one sister, Jeanette Bills, both of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Richard Bills of Lafayette and Steven Bills of Las Vegas.

Burial will be in Louisiana. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Anita Carney

Anita Carney, 36, of North Las Vegas died July 31 in a local hospital. A lifelong Southern Nevada resident, she was born Jan. 21, 1967, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Lila Copeland of Brownwood, Texas; and one brother, Danny Carney of Washington state.

Visitation is scheduled 8:30-10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Ralph Henry Copeland

Ralph Henry Copeland, 86, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 13, 1917, in Passaic, N.J. A resident for 27 years, he was a government heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by two sons, Douglas F. Copeland of Nageezi, N.M., and Ralph A. Copeland of Henderson; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Robert Glenn Dame

Robert Glenn Dame, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 29, 1926, in Denver. A resident for 20 years, he was a construction inspector and a World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E.

Kelly Glenn Faraone

Kelly Glenn Faraone, 43, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 15, 1959, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a resort marketer.

She is survived by her husband, Giovanni; one daughter, Amanda Glenn, and her father, Richard Glenn, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Valerie Reitz of Bedford, Texas; three brothers, Rod Glenn, Steven Glenn and John Glenn, and one sister, Dori Hylton, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Sunday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.

Albert A. Ferritto

Albert A. Ferritto, 54, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 24, 1948, in Cleveland. A resident for 20 years, he owned and operated an auto detailing business.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; one daughter, Heather; one son, Tod; one brother, Ron Ferritto of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow at noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Raymond Lee Jones

Raymond Lee Jones, 39, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 26, 1963, in Lake Providence, La. A resident for 25 years, he was a cook for Republic Services.

He is survived by his companion, Melondy Eppenger; three daughters, Shayla Eppenger, Darnisha Jones and Quishaundra Whatley, one son, Raymond K. Jones; his parents, Irene Jones Sr. and James Jones Sr., three brothers, James Jones Jr., Larry Lewis and Leonard Jones, and one sister, Irene Jones Jr., all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Lord of Host Ministries, 952 Balzar Ave.

Jeanette Alma Kantor

Jeanette Alma Kantor, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 13, 1919, in New York. A resident for 19 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Edward John Kantor; one daughter, Katherine Caro; and two grandchildren.

Richard Marco

Richard Marco, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 3, 1941, in Pueblo, Colo. A resident for 43 years, he was a retired firefighter, a Vietnam War Air Force veteran, a member of the Firefighters Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles 1213, Moose and Elks.

He is survived by one daughter, Ann Slavkin of Trabuco Canyon, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be noon Saturday in Eagles Lodge 1213, 1601 E. Washington Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Henry R. Mazurowski

Henry R. Mazurowski, 63, of Henderson died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 8, 1939, in Chicago. A resident for three years, he was a millwork specialist.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Winters; one son, Richard Mazurowski of Arlington Heights, Ill.; one brother, Robert Mazurowski of Schaumburg, Ill.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Margaret Ode

Margaret Ode, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born July 28, 1915, in Detroit. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Luann Galik and Barbara Roth, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Anthony Simonie of Las Vegas and Roger Simonie of Detroit; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Leo J. Piche

Leo J. Piche, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born May 26, 1921, in Rhode Island. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired truck driver and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Wilson of Las Vegas and Lydia Montgomery of Orange County, Calif.

Carmela Pironde

Carmela Pironde, 83, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born March 9, 1920, in New York City. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

She is survived by her husband, John; three daughters, Lorraine Blauvelt of Northvale, N.J., Janet Hanser of Chamblee, Ga., and Joanne Francis of Freehold, N.J.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 4 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Robert O. Pomerenke

Robert O. Pomerenke, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. A retired electrical engineer, he was born Jan. 28, 1932, in Appleton, Minn.

He is survived by his wife, Glennis; one daughter, Barbara James of London; and two sons, Kyle Pomerenke of Bozeman, Mont., and Kurt Pomerenke of Oswego, N.Y.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 8901 Del Webb Blvd. Graveside services will be private. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Fabius F. Russell

Fabius F. Russell, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 18, 1929, in Youngstown, Ohio. A resident for nine years, he was a retired physician and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carletta; three daughters, Linda Russell Sanders of Vallejo, Calif., Sonja Lee Russell of Los Angeles and Heidi Ann Russell of Tucson; one sister, Sallie Lawrence of Richardson, Texas; one brother, Laforrest Russell of Philadelphia; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Evelyn S. Salzbrunn

Evelyn S. Salzbrunn, 83, of Boulder City died Friday in Boulder City. She was born Feb. 14, 1920, in Gillman, Minn. A resident for 17 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, David Salzbrunn of Boulder City and Dennis Salzbrunn of Newfame, Vt.; one sister, Lucille Ringwelski of St. Paul, Minn.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Shirley Sanders

Shirley Sanders, 75, of Boulder City died Friday in Boulder City. She was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Oregon. A resident for eight years, she was a retired music teacher and a member of the Boulder City Organ Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Berrie Boughter of Kent, Wash.; one son, Mark Sanders of Boulder City; one sister, Sue Weinberg of Henderson; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 12:40 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Charles E. Seago Jr.

Charles E. Seago Jr., 46, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 4, 1956, in Redding, Calif. A resident for eight years, he was a bartender.

He is survived by two brothers; and one sister.

Vern G. Solomon

Vern G. Solomon, 75, of Pahrump died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 17, 1928, in Salt Lake City. A resident for nine years, he was a retired manufacturing superintendent, a member and prior treasurer of the Willow Creek Men's Golf Association and was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame, Salt Lake City.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara J.; two daughters, Sandra L. Venezia of Castle Rock, Colo., and Jennifer S. Belcher of Greenville, S.C.; one stepdaughter, Kathy L. Talmage of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two stepsons, Richard L. Childs of Fort Collins, Colo., and Blair D. Childs of Ogden, Utah; one brother, James E. Solomon; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be in Pahrump. Burial will be in Salt Lake City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Fredrick Lawrence Speakman

Fredrick Lawrence Speakman, 52, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born May 24, 1951, in Chillicothe, Ohio. A resident for 40 years, he was a window washer and a member of the Teamsters Union.

He is survived by two sons, Richard W. Speakman and Bryan A. Speakman, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Thomas Meredith and Donald Reihner, both of Las Vegas, and William Reihner of Middleton, Idaho; and two sisters, Debbra Keenan of Las Vegas and Mary Scholtka of Manteca, Calif.
