Joan M. Anderson

Joan M. Anderson, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 29, 1934, in Boulder, Colo. A resident for four years, she was an assisted living director.

She is survived by her companion, Daniel Bean of Las Vegas; one son, Terry Lund of Longmont, Colo., two daughters, Bernie Rice of Henderson and Karla Walter of Longmont, Colo.; one sister, Betty Dean of Schnecksville, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Wednesday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Clyde Edward Bolton

Clyde Edward Bolton, 71, of North Las Vegas died Saturday. He was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Portsmouth, Ohio. A resident for 43 years, he was a machinist in the automotive industry, an Army veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 51.

He is survived by three sons, Gary Bolton of North Las Vegas and Clyde Edward Bolton Jr. and Tom Bolton, both of Las Vegas; six sisters, Barbara Elliott and Lenna Mae Jones, both of Portsmouth, and Kaye Fabiani, Faye Davis, Margaret Knittle and Emma Lou Pelletier, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Rose Capizzi

Rose Capizzi, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Waterbury, Conn. A resident for five years, she was a factory worker for a buckle company.

She is survived by one daughter, Sarah Capizzi of Las Vegas; one son, Anthony Capizzi of Waterbury; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Bruno S. Casarotto

Bruno S. Casarotto, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 1, 1925, in Rockford, Ill. A resident for 23 years, he was a masonry contractor and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne; three sons, Bruce Casarotto, David Casarotto and Robert Casarotto, all of Las Vegas; five brothers, Louis Casarotto of Stevens Point, Wis., Dominic Casarotto of South Beloit, Fla., Peter Casarotto of New Hampshire, Frank Casarotto of Loves Park, Ill., and John Casarotto of Rockford; two sisters, Stella Vinci of Rockford and Margaret Soul of Arizona; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Elizabeth Josephine Davy

Elizabeth Josephine Davy, 69, of Henderson died Saturday in Las Vegas. A clerical worker, she was born Feb. 4, 1934, in Indiana.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; one son, James Mann; two brothers, John Prickett and Don Prickett; one sister, Patty Underwood; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services are pending. Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road is handling arrangements.

Noel Eben

Noel Eben, 69, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 12, 1933, in Oakland, Calif. A resident for seven years, he was a retired union dispatcher.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one son, Steven Eben of Hayward, Calif.; one daughter, Denise LaBarge of Castro Valley, Calif.; one sister, Janet Eastwood of Oakland; and two grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. is handling arrangements.

Pecola Richardson Ernest

Pecola Richardson Ernest, 68, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. She was born July 2, 1935, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 49 years, she was a retired owner-operator of a janitorial company.

She is survived by six daughters, Patricia Walker, Melissa Ernest and Janice Ernest, all of Las Vegas, Renee Ernest of Upper Marlboro, Md., Pecola Francois of Stafford, Va., and Ginger Weitzman of Baltimore; 10 sons, Bobby Ernest, Greg Ernest, Michael Ernest, Robert Ernest III, Willie Ernest, Chris Ernest, Sam Ernest and Daniel Ernest, all of Las Vegas, Ronnie Ernest of El Centro, Calif., and Joseph Ernest of Baltimore; one sister, Dorothy Christensen of Las Vegas; one brother, Roosevelt Richardson of Oakland, Calif.; 34 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Jeffrey Ferguson

Jeffrey Ferguson, 47, of Las Vegas died July 14. A salesman, he was born Oct. 15, 1955, in Lodi, Calif.

He is survived by one son, Brian Ferguson; his mother, Edna F. Ferguson; two sisters, Zola Ferguson of Reno and Berna MacFadyen; and one brother, Dennis Ferguson.

Anna Ferkanin

Anna Ferkanin, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 1, 1925, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for many years, she was an executive secretary.

She is survived by one sister, Helen M. Ferkanin of Las Vegas.

Sandra Jean Gron

Sandra Jean Gron, 61, of Nevada died Sunday in Las Vegas. A customer service representative, she was born July 4, 1942, in Chicago.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley; two daughters, Cynthia Shelly and Tracy Samuels; one brother, David Samuels; and one grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 17 at Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road.

Scott Hozman

Scott Hozman, 45, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 1, 1958, in Michigan. A resident for 15 years, he was a limousine driver.

He is survived by his wife, Edith; his father, Murray Hozman; and his mother, Millicent Syner.

Richard Michael Husak

Richard Michael Husak, 54, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 30, 1949, in Chicago. A resident for 15 years, he was a telecommunications tech and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; his mother, Alma Husak of Las Vegas; three stepchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bunkers Mortuary's Meadows Room, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Elizabeth 'Betty' Jones

Elizabeth "Betty" Jones, 85, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Preston, England. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; one son, Tom Jones of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Martha J. Ledbetter

Martha J. Ledbetter, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Sikeston, Mo. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Ledbetter of Las Vegas and Randall Ledbetter of Boise, Idaho; one brother, Dan Delplane of Bible, Ark.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 2 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Pauline McCann

Pauline McCann, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Jan. 25, 1926, in Douglas, Ga. A resident for 33 years, she was a retired waitress and a retired member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis McCann and Danny McCann, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Linda Zeimet of Las Vegas and Wanda Cardiff of Sebastopol, Calif.; two brothers, H.D. Paulk of Fort Myers, Fla., and James Paulk of Georgia; and six grandchildren.

Nina Marie Moorehead

Nina Marie Moorehead, 37, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in Los Angeles. She was born Oct. 31, 1965, in Waterbury, Conn. A resident for 29 years, she was a candy making machine operator.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin D. Sr.; five sons, Marvin D. Moorehead Jr., Lance A. Moorhead, Quenton L. Moorehead, Jessie C. Moorehead and Keonta J. Moorehead, and one daughter, Jaszmin M. Moorehead, all of North Las Vegas; her father, John O. Manning Sr., and her mother, Sandra A. Brown, both of Las Vegas; her stepfather, George A. Brown of North Las Vegas; six brothers, Allen Tripp of Queens, N.Y., John O. Manning Jr. of North Las Vegas and James Manning, Lance Carr, Kenneth A. Carr and Anthony L. Carr, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Nadine V. Carr of Las Vegas and Virjum Poveromo of Waterbury; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be noon to 7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

Mary Louise Helen Morrison

Mary Louise Helen Morrison, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 1, 1917, in Staten Island, N.Y. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Retired Officers Wives Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Louise Jones of Las Vegas and Linda Beachum of Dallas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Christ Church Episcopal, 2100 S. Maryland Parkway. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Lyle Rawson Persch IV of Las Vegas died Wednesday, his date of birth, in a local hospital.

He is survived by his parents, Elaine and Lyle R. Persch III of Las Vegas; his grandparents, Lyle and Margaret Persch of Las Vegas and Sal and Iloa Lualemaga of Union City, Calif.

Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to a 10:30 a.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Bela Sampson

Bela Sampson, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born April 21, 1922, in Lodz, Poland. A resident for five years, she was a retired retail saleswoman and a member of the Holocaust Survivors Group.

She is survived by two sons, Allan Sampson and Charles Sampson, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Maxine Stramat

Maxine Stramat, 82, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 24, 1921, in Chicago. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired aviation supply office manager.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; and three sons, Greg Stramat of South Jordan, Utah, and Michael Stramat and Tom Stramat, both of Northridge, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday with a 6 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
