Lawsuit claiming group was cheated progresses

HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A judge Wednesday refused to dismiss a lawsuit by a group of Englewood hospital workers who claim they were cheated out of a $25 million lottery prize.

Superior Court Judge Marguerite Simon said even though the workers have not established any direct proof that they were wronged, there was enough circumstantial evidence to continue the case.

The 20 workers claim a colleague, Jamal Townes, bought the ticket with money from an office lottery pool but gave it to Teri and Cornell Davis of Englewood to avoid paying them their share.

Police arrest suspect in casino robberies

ATLANTIC CITY -- Authorities have arrested a fifth suspect sought in a string of robberies at three resort casinos.

Earl Dennis, 29, was taken into custody without incident 10:40 p.m. Friday at a motel in the city, state police said Saturday. Dennis was being held in the Atlantic County jail on $500,000 bail, pending an arraignment.

The arrest of Dennis follows that of three other suspects, who were apprehended Thursday. Vincent Nelson, 24, of Pleasantville; Eugene Wilder, 31, and Keane Blann, 32, both of Atlantic City, were arrested in connection with robberies at the Sands, Bally's Park Place and Trump Plaza.
