Lawn-watering restrictions to take effect on Thursday
Wednesday, April 30, 2003 | 11:13 a.m.
Seasonal watering restrictions go into effect Thursday, meaning lawn watering will be prohibited in Las Vegas, Henderson and unincorporated Clark County between noon and 7 p.m. until Oct. 1.
In North Las Vegas watering will be prohibited from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
During summer months the Southern Nevada Water Authority recommends watering lawns seven days a week, three times a day for four minutes each time.
Flowering plants should be watered three days a week, once a day for 12 minutes.
Exceptions to these restrictions include hand watering brown spots at any time of day and watering new lawns for 30 days from planting.
