Metro Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the body of a woman found bludgeoned in a downtown Las Vegas alley and providing information about her slaying.
Metro Homicide Lt. Tom Monahan said today that police believe the woman was killed late Friday and possibly at the site where her body was found -- Stewart Avenue and 11th Street -- at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
The woman was believed to have been in her late 20s. She is white, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, medium build with blonde hair. She was wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans. The woman had no ID card on her.
Police believe the cause of death was a blow to the head. The Clark County coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause.
Police have yet to determine a motive in the slaying.
Anyone with information on the woman or the slaying can call CrimeStoppers at 385-5555 or Metro homicide at 229-3521.
