Public can tour five private gardens
The American Society of Landscape Architects and the Southern Nevada Water Authority will present the SNASLA Garden Tour from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. The tour will showcase five private gardens.
The event is an opportunity for the public to view and get inspiration from professionally designed residential gardens and learn about the landscape architecture profession.
Admission is $15 and includes a reception immediately following the tour.

CCSN will host job fair Wednesday
Community College of Southern Nevada will host the Spring Is in the Air career job fair, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Caviglia Academic Computing Building at the Henderson campus, 700 College Drive.
The job fair is open to the public as well as CCSN students.
Most employers will conduct a variety of activities: providing company information and job applications, accepting resumes, scheduling interviews and holding on-site interviews.

Homeowners can win Landscape Awards
Applications are available for the Southern Nevada Water Authority 2003 Landscape Awards online at snwa.com or by calling the Conservation Helpline at 258-7283.
The Landscape Awards recognize homeowners who have created landscapes that are water-smart, functional and eye catching.
There is no cost to enter and winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony in July.
McDonald House will host benefit breakfast
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Las Vegas will host a pancake breakfast between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Saturday at the Blue Diamond Recreation Hall, for cyclists and the general public.
The breakfast is $15 at the door, and all proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House charities. Call Sarah at 252-4663.
Nevada Arts Advocates,
7555 Spanish Bay Drive, is accepting scholarship applications for graduating seniors in Nevada who wish to further their studies in the arts. Scholarships are available through high school district counselor offices or can be obtained on the Nevada Arts Advocate website at www.nvartsadvocates.org. Call 362-8885.
Homeless cats and dogs
will be available for adoption from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at all Petsmart stores.
