Proposals accepted for public art display
Friday, April 25, 2003 | 8:57 a.m.
Artists are being asked to submit concept proposals for an outdoor public art sculpture at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior center. Also being sought are examples of work for an indoor display
Located at 250 North Eastern Ave., the recently constructed center was architectually designed to reflect the area's Hispanic heritage.
Two-or-three-dimensional work in varying media types will be considered for purchase or commission. This includes fiber arts, textiles, sculpture and ceramics. The call for such work is open to all U.S. residents.
The call for the outdoor sculpture is open to residents in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon and Utah.
Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. May 19. Applications are available at the Las Vegas Arts Commission, 749 Veterans Memorial Drive.
The program is a joint effort between the Las Vegas Arts Commission and the Department of Neighborhood Services.
For more information or to request to have an application mailed, call 229-6844 or e-mail Lisa Stamanis.
