Abstracts
Las Vegas sculptor Evgeni Vodenitcharov is displaying his abstract art, "Suite #21," from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until May 30 at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. Vodenitcharov, a Bulgaria-born artist, also has his work available for viewing in almost every Las Vegas casino. 455-8239.
Artist reception
Wayne Littlejohn, a Community College of Southern Nevada Fine Arts instructor, is exhibiting Baroque-inspired biomorphic jellyfish abstract paintings and sculptures through May 30 at the Nevada Arts Council, 821 S. Seventh St. A reception will be from 5-7 p.m. today. 486-3700.
Asian art
Asian Art Now 2003, an exhibit showcasing 75 members of the Asian Cultural Exchange Association from 10 Asian countries, is on display through June 22 at Las Vegas Art Museum, 9600 W. Gallery exhibit
Artist Katherine Aoki's work will be displayed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through May 28 at Community College of Southern Nevada Fine Arts Gallery on the Cheyenne campus. A reception will be from 1-3 p.m. Thursday. 651-4006.
Smithsonian
The Las Vegas Valley Water District is displaying a Smithsonian Institution exhibit, "Barn Again, Celebrating an American Icon," an exhibit featuring the importance of barns to American history, through May 15 at 1001 S. Valley View Blvd. 870-2011.

"Watercolors From Across the West," the Western Federation of Watercolor Socities' 28th exhibition, hosted by the Nevada Watercolor Society, can be viewed until June 16 at UNLV's Marjorie Barrick Museu. "Africa: The Source," featuring African masks, sculpture, basketry and fabrics, is on display through June 30 at the Left of Center gallery, 2207 W. Gowan Road, North Las Vegas.
