Applications are due for Trial by Peers
Trial by Peers, a summer juvenile diversion program, is accepting applications for enrollment until May 13. The eight-week training course begins June 10.
Trial by Peers accepts cases from juvenile court.
Students are trained in courtroom procedure so they will be able to serve as youth counselors and represent their clients in a court of law.

Shade Tree kids make cards for Mom
Make a $10 donation and the Shade Tree Shelter will send a specially printed Mother's Day card in your name. The art on he cards are created by children living at the shelter. Funds raised will go toward the purchase of supplies for the shelter.

SAFE House, a nonprofit
domestic violence organization, will present its annual Circle of Peace awards to this year's recipients, the Andre Agassi Foundation, Station Casinos and St. Rose Dominican Yacht and Beach Club from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the South Shore, 210 Grand Mediterra Blvd., Henderson. Valley Hospital Medical Center
will host a Pre-Mother's Day Tea and Baby Fair from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the campus, 700 Shadow Lane. The event features tours of the labor and delivery and post-partum suites, refreshments, giveaways, information on nutrition, and vendors such as Babies R Us. For more information, call 388-4663.
The American Red Cross
of Southern Nevada will hold a Pet CPR class from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday at its office, 3672 N. Rancho Drive. The cost is $35, which includes a Pet First Aid reference book. To register or for more information, call 791-3311.
