Well failure leaves Red Rock without water

The Bureau of Land Management is warning visitors to Red Rock Canyon that it does not have drinking water available this week.
Red Rock National Conservation Area Manager Tim O'Brien said the well supplying water to the restrooms and drinking fountains at the visitors center has failed.
The well should be repaired by this weekend, he said.
The BLM has always asked visitors to bring their own drinking water when visiting the national conservation area.
"It's important to carry water, especially if you intend to hike, boulder or climb" in the conservation area, O'Brien said.
The Friends of Red Rock, a nonprofit volunteer group that supports the conservation area, has bottled water for sale at the visitors center.
