Unidentified man shot, killed
A man was shot outside an apartment building near Flamingo Road and Nellis Boulevard about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday and died several hours later at University Medical Center, Metro Police Homicide Sgt. Rocky Alby said.
He was shot near the parking lot in the 3900 block of Perry Street, then collapsed on the sidewalk. A resident found him and called police.
The victim died at UMC about midnight. He had not yet been identified, Alby said. Police have no suspects.
State seeks property owners
The state Treasurer's Office is holding $122 million in unclaimed property that belongs to the people and businesses of Nevada and is trying to get the property to its rightful owners.
In today's Las Vegas Sun a list of names of those with unclaimed property will be printed in a special fold-over section. Those whose name appears on the list or those who think they may have unclaimed property can call 486-4146 or check the website NevadaTreasurer.com.
Since August, when the list of names was last printed, more than $3.2 million in property has been returned to 3,166 claimants.
A sport utility vehicle crashed
through the front of a Rebel convenience store at Tropicana Avenue and Koval Lane about 2:15 a.m. today, Metro Police said. The female driver told officers she blacked out and lost control of her vehicle. No one was hurt.
Portland, Ore.-based Pacific Seafood
has issued a recall on its fresh seafood mix because its imitation crab meat contains egg whites and wheat flour, products that could cause a life-threatening allergic reaction. The seafood mix was available in stores in Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Northern California, Kansas, Texas and Utah.
