Driver shot to death in street
A man was found dead next to his vehicle on Patrick Road, between Whitney Ranch Drive and Stephanie Street, about 4:30 a.m. today, Henderson Police said.
Witnesses told police they heard yelling, then heard a gunshot and a car speeding away, Officer Shane Lewis said.
Investigators were canvassing the area this morning and had stopped several cars, but had not made any arrests. Police did not have a description of a suspect vehicle, Lewis said.
Metro identifies officer in shooting
The Metro Police officer who shot and killed a man who allegedly tried to hit him with a golf club Friday has been identified as Jason Bressler, 25.
Bressler was hired by Metro in August 2001, Officer Jose Montoya said.
The Clark County coroner's office has identified the victim as Jon K. Fukumoto, 39.
A coroner's inquest has not yet been scheduled.
