Letter: Tiger proves intelligence with stance on war

Tiger Woods, star golfer, also reasons and writes very well. He, like the majority of Americans, supports the war on Iraq. His letter (quoted in part from the April 21 issue of National Review) is worth reading as to his view of Congress, the president and our military forces:
"Obviously, no one likes war. Our Congress and President tried hard to avoid the use of force, but ultimately decided it was the best course of action. I like the assertiveness shown by President Bush and think we owe it to our political and military leaders, along with the brave soldiers, to be as supportive as possible during these difficult and trying times ..."
Eighty percent of Americans support the war in Iraq, (shown by a Washington Post/ABC News poll conducted April 9). Tiger joins the vast American majority who understand why the Saddam regime had to be toppled. We would think he would also realize that bullying leaders in nations like North Korea and Syria now pay America and Britain the respect deserved. Hopefully, they will be reasonable in future dealings with us.
