Schedule: Saturday, qualifying (Speed Channel, 5 a.m.); Sunday, race (Speed Channel, 4:30 a.m.).
Track: Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodrome (road course, 3.057 miles, 15 turns).
Race distance: 189.534 miles, 62 laps.
Last race: Jordan driver Giancarlo Fisichella was declared the winner of the Brazilian Grand Prix on April 11, five days after the event, when it was determined that he was leading before the race was stopped due to crashes and spinouts on the rain-soaked Interlagos track. McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen, the previously declared winner, was dropped to second.
Last year: Michael Schumacher continued to roll through the Formula One 2002 season by leading the entire race at the San Marino Grand Prix for his third victory of the season. Ferrari teammate Rubens Barrichello finished second.
Fast facts: Five-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher has not finished on the podium in each of the first three races this season, his longest slump since 2000. He has not had a four-week slide since 1996. ... Schumacher's win in the 1999 race gave Ferrari its first victory in the San Marino Grand Prix since 1983. He has placed in the top two in six of the last seven races at Imola. ... Roland Ratzenberger and Brazilian star Ayrton Senna were killed in the 1994 race. ... The track was dedicated to the memory of Dino Ferrari in 1970, with Enzo's name added to its official title after his death in 1988.

Last race: Jeff Gordon used the nose of his car to nudge Bobby Labonte out of the way on the first turn of the 487th lap Sunday to win the Virginia 500 in Martinsville. The victory was the 62nd of Gordon's Winston Cup career, but his first of the season and the first in 16 races, since September in Kansas City.

Last race: Paul Tracy became the first CART driver to begin a season with three victories after winning the Grand Prix of Long Beach by 4.544 seconds over second-place Adrian Fernandez. The 34-year-old Canadian is also the first driver in American open-wheel racing to start with three wins since Al Unser did it in 1971.

Last race: Dennis Setzer passed Chad Chaffin with 51 laps to go and held on through a series of late restarts to win the Advance Auto Parts 250 at Martinsville, Va.. Setzer, the defending champion, earned his ninth career victory and became the first driver to win twice on tight, narrow Martinsville Speedway, where the close quarters produced 11 caution flags.

Tony Pedregon won his third race of the season by narrowly defeating Del Worsham in the Funny Car final while Kurt Johnson and Angelle Savoie also won their won their categories.
