Joseph Arathoon

Joseph Arathoon, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A retired production foreman, he was born May 27, 1927, in Indonesia.

He is survived by his wife, Marga; one daughter, Vera Leake of Henderson; and two brothers, Frits Meyers and Eric Arathoon, both of Holland.

Valley Memorial Crematory, 4855 W. Desert Inn Road, is handling private arrangements.

Bradley F. Bierman

Bradley F. Bierman, 34, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 18, 1968, in Osceola, Wis. A resident for 29 years, he was a senior applications developer for the Las Vegas Valley Water District.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn; one son, Matthew Bierman, his parents, Larry and Nancy Bierman, one brother, Barry Bierman, and his grandmother, Ella Larson, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Monday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 4519 Simmons St., North Las Vegas. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Teddy J. Bishop

Teddy J. Bishop, 63, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born June 11, 1939, in Banner, Okla. A resident for five years, he was a retired Army sergeant first class and a Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; one daughter, Young Me of Henderson; one son, Michael Bishop of Seattle; two sisters, Margaret Jeffcoat and Marie Ward, both of Del City, Okla.; and one brother, Melvin Bishop of Kansas City, Kan.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Dorothy W. Boyd

Dorothy W. Boyd, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 30, 1924, in Spokane, Wash. A resident for 70 years, she was a retired hotel laundry cleaner and a member of the Rebeccas in Reno.

She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Davis of Las Vegas and Jean Anderson of Riverside, Calif.; one son, Robert Anderson of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Reno.

Ann B. Doblado

Ann B. Doblado, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born June 29, 1930, in Berlin. A resident for 32 years, she was a retired owner of a floral shop.

She is survived by one son, Louie Doblado of Las Vegas; one brother, Hans of Germany; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Monday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Steven Dulka

Steven Dulka, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 30, 1926, in Connecticut. A resident for 19 years, he was a real estate agent, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Minnie; one daughter, Terri King, and one son, Steven Brian Dulka, both of California.

Dr. Avron Bud Genser

Dr. Avron Bud Genser, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born June 21, 1928, in Edmonton, Alberta. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired physican, a member of the Clark County Medical Society, National Rifle Association and Alberta College of Physicians and Surgeons.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie M.; two sons, David and Stephen, both of Canada; two daughters, Jillian of Canada and Judy; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Maria A. Hernandez

Maria A. Hernandez, 77, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 26, 1925, in Santa Barbara, Mexico. A resident for 41 years, she was a retired hotel pantry worker.

She is survived by one daughter, Maria Corral, five sons, Jose Payan, Cipriano Payan, Ambrosio Payan, Jesus L. Payan and Ezequiel Hernandez, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Luisa Chaparro of El Paso, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Wednesday in St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Kauila Kamai

Kauila Kamai, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A resident for four years, he was born March 28, 1925, in Hawaii.

He is survived by his wife, Angela; three sons, Daniel Kamai and John Kamai, both of Denver, and Kauila Kamai Jr. of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three daughters, Susan Lujan, Olivia Kamai and Joann Jacobs, all of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Kay F. Kirk

Kay F. Kirk, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born July 8, 1934, in Georgia. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired payroll supervisor in the aerospace industry.

She is survived by her husband, James; two daughters, Kathy Walker and Patti Hall; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Lulu Mae Landles

Lulu Mae Landles, 94, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 5, 1909, in Missouri. A resident for 36 years, she was a waitress.

She is survived by one brother, Kenneth McCausland of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and one sister, Georgia Bridges of Lakewood, Calif.

Graveside services will be in California. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Myrl Marie McCaigue

Myrl Marie McCaigue, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 29, 1927, in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. A resident for 26 years, she was a cashier in the gaming industry.

She is survived by two daughters, Mickie Wong of Franklin, Wis., and Linda Friday of Milwaukee; one sister, Jane Lancaster of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. A private burial will follow.

Jose Medina

Jose Medina, 52, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1950, in Mexico. A resident for 35 years, he was a contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa; one daughter, Marisol Medina, two sons, Jose Medina and Andrew Medina, and two brothers, Javier Medina and Carlos Medina, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Rosa Medina of Guadalajara, Mexico, and Rosario Medina of Chicago.

Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Raymond L. Nelson

Raymond L. Nelson, 79, of Las Vegas died April 9 in Las Vegas. He was born July 4, 1923, in Fremont, Neb. A resident for 45 years, he was a teacher for the Clark County School District for more than 30 years, a World War II Navy veteran, a boxer, director of Clark Towers Senior Housing and active in local teachers' associations.

He is survived by two daughters, Monique and Carrie, both of Las Vegas; four sons, Raymond of San Francisco, Sean of Boston and Gavin and Byran, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 4 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, followed by burial in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Daniel C. Newton

Daniel C. Newton, 60, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born June 9, 1942, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 28 years, he was retired from the Air Force, was a Vietnam War veteran, a range manager and member of Thunderbird Alumni Association.

He is survived by his wife, Karin; one son, Scott Newton, and one daughter, Melissa Newton, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Douglas Newton of Spring, Texas; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Martin Pincus

Martin Pincus, 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 13, 1922, in Pittsfield, Mass. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired uniform rental manager and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; one son, Alan Pincus of Los Angeles; one daughter, Randi Pincus of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11:20 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Mario V. Portese

Mario V. Portese, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 18, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired iron worker.

He is survived by one son, James Portese of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Domey Quesada, 74, of Las Vegas died March 28 in Las Vegas. A retail clerk, he was born May 7, 1928, in Mexico.

He is survived by one son, Joe Quesada.

Daniel James Sutherland

Daniel James Sutherland, 47, of Las Vegas died April 2 in Las Vegas. He was born July 21, 1955, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, he was a sales representative for car dealerships.

He is survived by one son, Jacob of Las Vegas; and two daughters, Sarah Sutherland of Las Vegas and Danielle Sutherland of Henderson.

Raul Roberto Tarango Sr., 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday. A resident for 18 years, he was born Oct. 16, 1939, in Chihuahua, Mexico.

He is survived by his wife, Clara; three sons, Raul Jr., Adrian and Ernest; two daughters, Sylvia Hill and Deborah Cuadra; one stepson, Steven Alegre; three stepdaughters, Sophia Sandoval, Patricia Navarro and Linda Heath; two brothers, Manuel Alvarez and Luis Alvarez; one sister, Theresa Lopez; one stepbrother, Hector; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until a 3 p.m. chapel service Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Edward L. Walter

Edward L. Walter, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 1, 1933, in New Mexico. A resident for seven years, he was a retired electrician, a Korean War Army veteran and a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 354.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dixie; three sons, Curt Walter of Midland, Texas, Steve Walter of Santa Fe, N.M., and Frank Walter of Phoenix; five daughters, Teresa Shewman, Julie Pino and Tamara Fugitt, all of Las Vegas, Rita Dyranski of El Paso, Texas, and Karen Vong of Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Alyce Watson of Pahrump and Eleanor Montgomery of Georgia; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
