Gov. Kenny Guinn today named Senior Deputy Attorney General Kimberly Maxson-Rushton of Las Vegas as a commissioner on the state Transportation Services Authority.
Maxson-Rushton, who will earn $88,333, will replace Commission Chairman Paul Christensen of Las Vegas, who retired April 3.
The governor said that Sandra Avants will serve as chairwoman of the three-member authority that regulates tow trucks, limousines, household good movers, intrastate bus services and taxicabs outside of Clark County. It has a budget of about $2 million a year.
Maxson-Rushton, 34, has been in the litigation division of the attorney general's office in Las Vegas. She previously was a deputy district attorney in Clark County.
