Three citations issued over threats to French restaurant

Metro Police have issued three misdemeanor citations to the man who made threatening phone calls to Andre's French restaurant last week.
Mary Jane Jarvis, co-owner of Andre's, said she's happy Ron Weist is being punished for leaving three profanity-laced messages on the restaurant's voice mail.
"But I feel bad because Metro and the DA's office are wasting valuable time on this when they could be going after more hardened criminals," she said.
"We're going to prosecute and bring him to justice because it has nothing to do with us. We are Americans."
Weist, apparently angry about France's opposition to the United States' war against Iraq, left his name, address and phone number on the messages. The owner of the restaurant, Andre Rochat, called Metro.
Lt. Cindy Galindo of Metro's gang crimes unit, which investigates bias-related crimes, said Weist was cited Saturday afternoon for making obscene, threatening or annoying phone calls.
