Las Vegas Area Fishing Report: Anglers land largemouth bass near river areas of Lake Mead

Walt DeMattos, a Lake Mead creel census clerk, reported that boaters fishing Overton Beach near the Muddy and Virgin Rivers areas continued to have success landing largemouth bass that ranged from 2-3 pounds. Top-water lures landed the fish.
Stripers were also taken with anchovies. The fish measured 18-19 inches long.
Shore anglers fishing Echo Bay with anchovies were successful landing small stripers. Anglers fishing the small coves north of the boat ramp with top-water lures reported success for largemouth bass that averaged 2 pounds.
Boaters fishing with anchovies in the vicinity of Black Island and Swallow Cove landed stripers that averaged 18 inches.
Participants in last week's largemouth bass tournament reported success.
Willow Beach anglers were very successful this past week. Anglers using O'Henry lures landed stripers that weighed in at 18, 22, 24 and 32 pounds.
Anglers fishing Comins Lake reported success for rainbow trout that ranged from 1-2 pounds. PowerBait landed the fish.
Anglers fishing Illipah Reservoir with PowerBait continued to be successful catching stocked rainbow trout that measured 12-14 inches.
