Boy, 14, killed in Interstate 15 rollover

Friday, April 11, 2003 | 9:46 a.m.

A 14-year-old boy died early today from injuries suffered after he was ejected from a car that rolled over on Interstate 15 after being struck by another vehicle, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The boy died at University Medical Center at 4:30 a.m., Trooper Angie Wolff , a Highway Patrol spokeswoman, said. The accident occurred at 10:45 p.m.

The accident triggered a number of other accidents in the area over the next several hours, Wolff said.

The boy who was killed was one of four children in the car and the only one not wearing a seat belt, Wolff said. The other three were treated at the scene, Wolff said.

The boy's name was not released pending notification of relatives.

The accident occurred when a vehicle driven northbound by a 17-year-old girl struck the northbound vehicle in which the boy was a passenger, Wolff said.
