Slot maker acquires company

Thursday, April 10, 2003 | 9:52 a.m.

Alliance Gaming Corp.'s slot manufacturing unit, Bally Gaming and Systems, has acquired Micro Clever Consulting, a casino management systems company based in Nice, France.

Terms weren't disclosed.

MCC, founded in 1996, has a systems presence in 75 European casinos with about 8,000 slot machines. Bally's "SDS" slot accounting system is in use in 40 casinos and 4,000 slots in Europe, the company said.

"The acquisition of MCC represents another significant step in our strategic plan to build on the strong foundation of our systems technology assets," said Robert Miodunski, president and chief executive officer of Alliance Gaming.

The company also offers software for table games management, player tracking and "cashless" technology that allow slot machines to dispense vouchers instead of coins.
