ST. GEORGE, Utah -- The UNLV women's golf team leaped seven spots on the with a final-round 292 to come from behind and win the 22-team BYU Dixie Classic at Sunbrook Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Rebels were in eighth place after the event's first 27 holes on Monday, before blistering the second half of the 54-hole event.
With Tuesday's four-over-par round, UNLV moved to 42-over for the event and defeated San Francisco by three strokes.
"What a great feeling," said UNLV head coach Missy Ringler. "Our performance here actually confirmed my thoughts that this was a tournament that we could go up and win. It's very fulfilling that we did."
