Gertrude Adamson

Gertrude Adamson, 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 16, 1949, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. A resident for 25 years, she was a barmaid.

She is survived by two sons, Anthony Adamson and Gregory Adamson, and one daughter, Janice Auster, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Cumrel Auster of Dayton, Ohio; one brother, Johnny Auster of Tuscaloosa; four sisters, Merlene Harewood, Brenda Auster and Vertia Benton, all of Dayton, and Mary Legette of Texas; and nine grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St., followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mary M. Bakes

Mary M. Bakes, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 31, 1924, in Chicago. A resident for 43 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Frank, Tony and Jeff, all of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Sunrise Cremation & Burial Society, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 5, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.

Mary E. Carey

Mary E. Carey, 87, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 8, 1915, in Bedford, Ind. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Gordon R. Carey of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Joseph F. Carbone

Joseph F. Carbone, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 17, 1918, in New York City. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired Army first sergeant and World War II and Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; one daughter, Christina Peterson, and one son, Ralph Carbone, both of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Darlene Spencer of Enon, Ohio; two brothers, Pat Carbone of Dallas and Anthony Carbone of Santa Barbara, Calif.; one sister, Eleanor Green of Bayside, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Lawrence Eugene Crow

Lawrence Eugene Crow, 53, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 4, 1950, in California. A resident for 14 years, he was a surveyor.

He is survived by one daughter, Andrea Marie Solberg; his mother, Dorothy; three sisters, Virginia Lyon, Helen Robertson and Sallee Hibbard; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Nicholas Fish

Nicholas Fish, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 17, 1917, in the Dalles, Ore. A resident for 63 years, he was a retired laborer at Basic Magnesium in Henderson, owned Judd's Furniture in the late 1940s and early '50s, owned Atlas Realty and was a member of Elks Lodge 1486.

He is survived by two daughters, Marty Roe of Bend, Ore., and Cindy Barker of Germany; one sister, Lou Ann Santongue of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Donald S. Foster

Donald S. Foster, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 21, 1931, in Carbondale, Pa. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired pit boss and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma; one daughter, Cynthia Lynn Foster of Las Vegas; one sister, Dorothy Foster of Wayne, N.J.; and one brother, Judson Foster of Melbourne, Fla.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Rubin M. Garmon

Rubin M. Garmon, 79, of Las Vegas died March 31 in Las Vegas. A retired carpenter and a member of the local carpenter's union, he was born Sept. 10, 1923, in Beaumont, Ky.

He is survived by three daughters, Joann Garmon-DeJonge, Pamela Dupont and Cheryl Garmon, all of Las Vegas; four sons, Darrell Elliot of San Angelo, Texas, Michael Elliot of Rock Island, Ill., and Arlie Garmon and Timothy Garmon, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Christine Doyle of Buckley, Ill.; two brothers, Dee Garmon of Rockford, Ill., and Lloyd Garmon of East Moline, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Illinois. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Diane M. Haldeman

Diane M. Haldeman, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1935, in Little Falls, Minn. A resident for 37 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Ray; one daughter, Page Haldeman, and two sons, Clark Haldeman and Bill Haldeman, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Candace Ann Henderson

Candace Ann Henderson, 54, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 9, 1948, in California. A resident for four weeks, she was a computer programmer for a security company and an Army veteran.

She is survived by her parents, Harold and Doreen Laws, and one sister, Kathleen O'Hair, all of Las Vegas.

Helen Mae Morgan

Helen Mae Morgan, 72, of Las Vegas died April 1 in Las Vegas. She was born July 4, 1930, in Oklahoma. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond A.; two sons, Jon D. and Steven P.; three sisters, Betty, Delores and Janie; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Spring Valley Assembly of God Church, 7570 W. Peace Way. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Ruben Navarro Sr.

Ruben Navarro Sr., 69, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 3, 1933, in Mexico. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired jeweler.

He is survived by his wife, Maria; three sons, Ruben Navarro Jr., Rodolfo Navarro and Danny Navarro, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Raymond Navarro, and two sisters, Lupe Navarro and Aurora Navarro, all of Mexico; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Eric Dwight Neuman

Eric Dwight Neuman, 26, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 4, 1976, in Marshalltown, Iowa. A resident for five years, he was a manager at Linens & Things.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa; one daughter, Abby; his father, James Neuman; his mother and stepfather, Judy and Richard Woods; two brothers, Adam Seward and Ryan Neuman; and his grandparents, Alvenna and Kenny Schaper, Janet Kuchenreuther and Billy and Judy Woods.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Canyon Ridge Church. Sunrise Cremation & Burial Society, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 5, Henderson.

Joseph Grier Roberts

Joseph Grier Roberts, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 19, 1915, in Springfield, Mo. A resident for 54 years, he was a retired roofer and a World War II Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lia; one stepson, George Arnold of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Jones.

Philip George Sherman

Philip George Sherman, 67, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 16, 1935, in Owosso, Mich. A resident for 30 years, he was a real estate investor.

He is survived by one brother, Bernard Schirle of Chesaning, Mich.; and two sisters, Donna Schirle of Kokomo, Ind., and Betty Pelon of Howell, Mich.

Visitation was scheduled noon-5 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Nona L. 'Vickie' Sholes

Nona L. "Vickie" Sholes, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 22, 1923, in Hannibal, Mo. A resident for 60 years, she was a gift-shop manager and a member of Nevada Lariettes.

She is survived by two daughters, Maribah Bushell and Winda Sholes, both of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

John Stewart

John Stewart, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Philadelphia. A resident for one year, he was a chef.

He is survived by three sons, Mike Stewart and Steve Williams, both of Las Vegas and Robert Williams of Yuba City, Calif.; one brother, Roy Stewart of Yuma, Ariz.; and one grandchild.

Edward W. Stoeckig

Edward W. Stoeckig, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 22, 1927, in Lancaster, Wis. A resident for five years, he was a service manager for an electric company, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks and Lions.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Stoeckig of Henderson and Mike Stoeckig of Rochester, Minn.; one daughter, Sue Brown of Whitefish, Mont.; one brother, John Stoeckig of Tucson; two sisters, Doris Larson of Arroyo Grande, Calif., and Elinor Bevins of Lake Worth, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 5 p.m. service Thursday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday in Christ the King. Burial will be in Montana. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Bobbie E. Suell

Bobbie E. Suell, 60, of North Las Vegas died Friday. He was born March 31, 1943, in Lake Providence, La. A resident for three years, he retired as an Air Force master sergeant after 25 years of service in 1986, was a Vietnam War veteran, a pilot for Air Bridge Grand Canyon Tours, examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration and chief flight instructor for First Flight Aviation, North Las Vegas Airport.

He is survived by his wife, Kanittha; two sons, Bobby Suell of Beale Air Force Base, Calif., and Tommy Suell of Las Vegas; two sisters, Mary Virgil and Lois Sanford, both of Los Angeles; and one grandchild.

Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Mary Elizabeth Ward

Mary Elizabeth Ward, 65, of Las Vegas died March 6 in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 12, 1938, in Chicago. A resident for 40 years, she was a bank customer service representative.

She is survived by her husband, James M.; one daughter, Leslie A. Moreno of North Las Vegas; two sisters, Veronica Miller of Mokena, Ill., and Eleanor Morrey of Frankfort, Ill.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.
