Members of the Army Reserve's 257th Transportation Company in Las Vegas were sent last week to Southwest Asia to provide support for the invasion of Iraq, according to the Defense Department.
The deployment of the 299 members of the unit brings to about 1,000 the number of National Guard, Army Guard, Air Guard and Army Reserve soldiers who have been deployed from Nevada to assist with Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The 257th Transportation Company is responsible for trucking tanks and other fighting vehicles between locations.
