Gertrude E. Baker

Gertrude E. Baker, 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Chicago. A resident for 39 years, she was a former employee at the Clark County Election Board, a volunteer at Valley Hospital and a former member of the Civil Air Patrol.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; one daughter, Donna Edenburn of Las Vegas; one brother, Thomas J. Nemecek of San Diego; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Chester R. Bernstein

Chester R. Bernstein, 48, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A telemarketer, he was born May 9, 1954, in Pennsylvania.

He is survived by one brother, Thomas Miller of Cincinnati.

Genevieve R. Burns

Genevieve R. Burns, 75, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Kokomo, Ind. A resident for 10 years, she retired as an office clerk from Norlin Music Instrument Co. in Illinois and played professional softball with the Rockola Music Maids in Chicago.

She is survived by one sister, Marilyn F. Burns of Henderson.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 1 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Olive T. Hallock

Olive T. Hallock, 57, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 24, 1945, in Marion, Ind. A resident of Southern Nevada for 35 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James W.; two daughters, Crystal Hallock and Terry Pirtle, both of Las Vegas; three brothers; nine sisters; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Saturday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be private.

Evan Richard Harris

Evan Richard Harris, 5 weeks, of Sacramento died Monday in a Sacramento hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 2003, in California.

He is survived by his parents, Rachel D. and Joshua R. Harris of Sacramento; and his grandparents, Richard and Karen Tobler Harris and Stan and Linda Tingey Judd, all of Las Vegas, and Dale and Carol Stucki of Los Alamos, N.M.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until an 11 a.m. service Saturday in the LDS Lone Mountain chapel, Buffalo Drive north of Cheyenne Avenue. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Anne Hernandez

Anne Hernandez, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Jan. 28, 1927, in New York.

She is survived by her husband, George; and one son, William Hernandez of Oregon.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Mary M. Hirsch

Mary M. Hirsch, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 7, 1918, in Orchard, Neb. A resident for 61 years, she was a retired dental office manager, a member of the Junior League, Southern Nevada Dental Society Ladies Auxiliary and St. Anne Altar Society and a former PTA president of St. Anne School.

She is survived by three daughters, Diane Keating and Kathleen Veatch-Corso, both of Las Vegas, and Patty Schumacher of Green Bay, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated 6 p.m. Saturday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Sunday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Karl Lyman Jackson Jr.

Karl Lyman Jackson Jr., 61, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born April 7, 1941, in Shreveport, La. A resident for eight years, he was an insurance agent, a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran and a member of St. Thomas More Men's Club.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Martha T.; four daughters, Denise Marshall and Karen Jackson, both of Las Vegas, Cindy Swanson of Geneva, Ill., and Sheri Jackson of Henderson; one sister, Thelma "Kay" Smith of South Jordan, Utah; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Leona F. King

Leona F. King, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 26, 1914, in New York. A resident for 16 years, she was a psychiatric nurse and an Army veteran.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; and one daughter, Joyce Hall of McAllen, Texas.

Floyd D. Malone

Floyd D. Malone, 78, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 9, 1924, in Porter, Wash. A resident for five years, he was a retired government supervisor, a Korean War Navy and Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Etta; two sons, Dennis Malone of Auburn, Wash., and Barry Malone of Everett, Wash.; one daughter, Sheila Chandler of Las Vegas; two sisters, Hester Jensen and Hannah Case, both of Olympia, Wash.; one brother, Glenn Malone of Woodburn, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Joseph Gerald Maltese

Joseph Gerald Maltese, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 3, 1924, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 13 years, he was an aircraft fire marshal and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Frances M.; one son, Joseph G. Maltese Jr. of Chino, Calif.; one daughter, Josette A. Perrie of Irvine, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until a 6:30 p.m. rosary Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

John Joseph 'Jackie' McGlone

John Joseph "Jackie" McGlone, 66, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 9, 1936, in Scranton, Pa. A resident for 7 1/2 years, he was a retired bread deliverer and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; two daughter, Connie Calarco and Charlotte Dela Rosa, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Margaret Pavon of Florida; one brother, Joseph McGlone of New York state; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.. and 4 p.m. until a 6 p.m. vigil service Sunday and noon-1 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive.

Evelyn Mary 'Annette' Nichols

Evelyn Mary "Annette" Nichols, 75, of Las Vegas died March 21 in a local care center. A nurse's aide, she was born Sept. 9, 1927, in New Zealand.

She is survived by two sons, David Michael Nichols and Kenneth Eugene Nichols; one daughter, Janet June Carr; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Shirley A. Saxton

Shirley A. Saxton, 61, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born July 6, 1941, in Tennessee. A resident for 38 years, she was a retired banker.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; two brothers, Teddie Harrison and Gordon Harrison; and two sisters, Vada Ewald and Vern Spriggs.

George Saunders

George Saunders, 58, of Las Vegas died March 27 in Las Vegas. A telemarketer, he was born Sept. 22, 1944, in New York.

He is survived by one son, Lawrence Saunders of Tennessee.

Genedick C. Wilson

Genedick C. Wilson, 83, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born June 30, 1919, in Fort Sill, Okla. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Verne; two daughters, Genevieve Wilson of Derby, Conn., and Anne Mehaffey of Saratoga, Calif.; two brothers, Jeffrey Wilson of New Zealand and Andrew Wilson of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Harold Wooley

Harold Wooley, 82, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born Nov. 30, 1920, in Pine Bluff, Ark. A resident for three years, he was a retired sound effects editor in the motion picture industry and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Renee; one son, Dennis Wooley of Valencia, Calif.; one daughter, Debbie Slattery of Henderson; one brother, Hubert Wooley of Mesquite; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
