Lights to shine until troops return

Friday, April 4, 2003 | 9:45 a.m.

Red, white and blue lights keep a patriotic flare on a mountain near Southern Highlands Country Club each night until U.S. troops come home from Iraq.

Gov. Kenny Guinn is expected to announce today that the residential community will be lit by the same company that produced the World Trade Center "Tribute to Light" in New York City.

Light America, owned by John Bielinksi, created the blaze of color that can be seen from the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 near St. Rose Parkway.

"It is our intention that these lights remain lit as a beacon of support until our men and women of the armed services return home and the war is over," Bielinski said.
