School: Green Valley

Sport: Golf

Last week: Lyon contributed two standout performances on the links for the Gators last week. In a tough battle with Coronado at Anthem, Lyon medaled with a 1-over round of 37 to lead the Gators to a two-stroke victory. Lyon came back two days later with a 2-over 38 to pace Green Valley to an easy victory against Silverado at Legacy. Lyon was also an All-Sunrise Region selection after his junior season at Green Valley.

KELSEY KLEIN

School: Las Vegas

Sport: Softball

Last week: Sometimes, all it takes is one spectacular day to earn Athlete of the Week honors, and Klein enjoyed that day Thursday against Basic. Kelin first blasted a two-run homer in the sixth inning that gave Las Vegas the lead and appeared to seal up the game. When the Wolves responded by tying it and sending the game to extra innings, Klein also responded by knocking out a solo homer in the eighth inning that eventually gave Las Vegas the victory, propelling the Wildcats to a strong 11-1 start.
