Currently: There is no question that Hanson is the heart and soul of the Indiana softball team. Playing exclusively at catcher this year, Hanson leads the Hoosiers with a .405 batting average, 4 homers, 19 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases. Hanson paces the Hoosiers in 11 offensive categories, including slugging percentage, on-base percentage, and total bases, and has started all 26 games for Indiana. The Hoosiers stand at 12-14 on the season, and 0-2 in Big Ten play.

Looking back: Hanson's success at Indiana is reflective of her place as one of a strong recent history of excellent softball players to come from the Silverado program. A four-year letterwinner at Silverado, Hanson was part of a Skyhawks state runner-up outfit. Hanson also played outside of school for the Vegas Stars ASA team. At Indiana, Hanson hopes to become the first member of her family to obtain a college degree.
